Creating a Coinbase Pro account and connecting it to Atani

Creating a Coinbase Pro account is very simple, all you have to do is access their main website, which you can do from this link.  Before proceeding make sure you are in one of the countries listed above and have your identity documents at hand to start the KYC process required by this exchange. 

Once we are on the main website, we must click on “Get Started”, to start the registration process.

Starting the sign up

Clicking on the “Get Started” option you will be asked for some basic data, such as your name, nationality, email, password, country or state where you live and a certification of being over 18 years old to access the service. 

Complete all these details and then click on the “Create an Account” button to continue with the registration process.

Performing KYC verification

The next step is to perform the Coinbase KYC verification. In this case, you must fill in the data in the following form

Once you complete the data, you will proceed to the introduction of the identification documents that prove the veracity of the data entered. At this point have your ID handy, remember that it must be completely legible, without erasures and it is advisable to take the picture with the camera of your cell phone directly with the Coinbase Pro application. 

Once this process is completed, you must confirm your phone number to serve as a 2FA device, however, we recommend that you activate the 2FA option using Google Authenticator or Authy, to have a higher level of security in accessing your Coinbase Pro account. 

Connecting Coinbase Pro via API Key

Atani allows you to connect exchanges to your application through the well-known API Key, something that is very easy to do. To do this all you have to do is go to your Coinbase Pro profile and select the API option.

Once there, you will be directed to the Coinbase Pro API Key control panel.  There you will have to click on the “New API Key” option, to create the new API. 

Register data in API Key creation

With this you will have to fill out a form where you will be asked for these data:

1. Portfolio/Portfolio: the portfolio for your API Key.
2. API Key Nickname, where you can put the identification name of the API (Ex: Atani). 
3. Permissions: the API permissions. Among them are: 
   • View only, perfect for an API that allows you to see the evolution of the portfolio without having access to purchases, sales, trades, withdrawals or deposits. 
   • Transfer: allows you to make deposits and withdrawals of cryptocurrencies from the platform. Be very careful with this permission, it is best to have it deactivated. 
   • Trade: allows trading through the API. 
4. Passphrase/Password: the password for the API Key.

Once you complete all the data, you will be able to click on the “CREATE API KEY” button and with this you will finish the API Key creation process. At the same time, you will see that Coinbase will show you a screen containing the Secret Key.

Copy this key as you will have to place it in the sister field of API Secret in the Atani connection, which you can find in the Exchanges tab of our application.

Now that you have the Passphrase/Password and the Secret Key, put those data in this section, and at the end you only have to put the API Key that you can see in the Coinbase Pro website.

This will be the last data to put in the Atani application, and with this you will finish the connection of Coinbase Pro to Atani.
